What data I process, and why

• Getting in touch (email, phone, WhatsApp): name, email address, phone number, company name and the content of your message. Purpose: answering your enquiry and arranging the consultation. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Retention: up to 2 years after our last contact if no contract follows.
• Booking a consultation in the Calendly calendar: name, email address, company name, the time you pick and any answers you enter. The calendar only loads when you click a booking button, choose “Show the calendar” or accept cookies. Once loaded, Calendly sets its own cookies, including a fraud-prevention cookie of its payment provider Stripe. Legal basis and retention: as for getting in touch.
• Contractual partners: billing and contact details. Purpose: performing the contract and meeting accounting obligations. Legal basis: performance of a contract and legal obligation (GDPR Article 6(1)(b) and (c)). Retention: 6 years from the end of the financial year, as required by Irish company and tax law.
• Visit statistics and advertising measurement: with your consent, Google Analytics 4 measures visits and which pages lead to enquiries; if I advertise on Google, Google Ads may record whether a visit from an ad led to a call or booking. Without consent no Google script loads at all. Legal basis: consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). Retention: analytics data for up to 14 months. You can withdraw consent at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
• Delivering the website: when you visit, Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical request data to serve the site and protect it from attacks. Legal basis: legitimate interest in a secure, working website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

Transfers outside the EU

Cloudflare, Google and Calendly process some data in the United States. These transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Cookies and similar storage

• ws_consent (your browser’s local storage): remembers your cookie choice. Strictly necessary. Kept until you change it.
• _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics): visit statistics. Only with consent. Up to 2 years.
• _gcl_* (Google Ads): ad conversion measurement, only while I advertise. Only with consent. 90 days.
• Calendly cookies (calendly.com and Stripe): only after the calendar loads, for the booking to work and for fraud prevention.

Your rights

At any time you may request access to the data held about you, its rectification or erasure, or restriction of processing; you may object to processing, exercise your right to data portability and withdraw your consent. Send your request to hello@patrikwalk.com and I will respond within 30 days.

You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The lead authority for this company is the Irish Data Protection Commission (21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28, Ireland, dataprotection.ie). You may equally complain to the supervisory authority in the EU country where you live or work.

Changes

I may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when the current version took effect.
